Even when you are in a clasroom full of students you can feel each of them. Their reactions, their curiosity (or lack of it in some cases) - you know that you have personal relationship with your students. And ask any teacher about feeling that you get when you meet your student after a longer period of time.
When we work on lesson in an e-learning system we reflect that personal touch that students recognize. When someone uses digital objects as building blocks to create a lesson, it can be made in a number of ways. But what if we want more? More detail, to have that personal touch in the right spot, there where it matters the most. Then we should be able to modify those objects, to change building blocks to have better fit.
This was the core idea when we created editable topics in Geanium. In that way you can use ready content with key events related to the topic already there and add your timeline on top of that. You can then focus on examples familiar to your students and have topic that has both global and local perspective available.
If you are a teacher using Its learning platform in Norway, UK or US you can try it now youself, just look under Extensions for Geanium.
